Each Monday morning the whole school participates in meditation in the Parish Centre led by Father Tony. Parents are welcome to join the children and teachers for a time of reflection and meditation. This is a very special element of St Michael’s Catholic School.
A separate Liturgy of the Word for children is offered every Sunday at the 10.00am Mass except on the third Sunday, in term time, when we celebrate the Family Mass.
Children in Year 4 are invited to take part in the Becoming Church Programme, which celebrates the First Reconciliation, Confirmation and First Holy Communion of our young people. This programme helps parents to prepare their children for further initiation into the Church. The lessons begin at the start of each school year and continue until the Feast of Corpus Christi in June.

The Monte Cecilia Housing Trust provides essential and emergency housing services to some of the most vulnerable families within our community and the greater Auckland region. Our school has had a special relationship with the Monte Cecilia Housing Trust since 2012.
It is through this special relationship that the Caring Shed was created so that our school community can help to provide the practical assistance the families who access the Monte Cecilia Housing Trust need. Our community can help to provide the practical assistance needed by donating good quality house hold items that can help make someone else’s house a home.
The Caring Shed can be found on the top asphalt count opposite the staff room. To place your donations in the Caring Shed, please collect the key from the school office.
